Alright! I got my invite to Gwent this afternoon, and it has been fun! So glad to have another game to play. Generally I'm not into card games, but I'm a Witcher fan and this game does the in-game Gwent justice! I have been spending time on Elder Scrolls Legends, but it is a lot like Hearthstone, with some very cool differences.
It's nice that Gwent is completely original, the three lanes to choose from add for a lot of building strategy and variance in game play. It does have the cards like other games with abilities that remove power from another card, if the card runs out of power, it is sent to the Graveyard. Unlike the other games, it isn't really the objective, it's more about having a higher power than your opponent, so you don't actually attack.

This is another really good card. It allows you to keep a card of your choosing on the field after the round is up, as long as it isn't a Gold unit card. It's good to try and use other support cards to raise it's power as high as possible before the end, especially if you are going for the finish round.
This card works extremely well if you come across a non-gold unit that has high power at the start of a round. Or if the enemy left a random card on the playing field at the end of the round, more than likely it won't be above six power.
The cool animated cards are great too. Like the Geralt or the Fiend. Add nice little aesthetic to the game. ES:Legends has some slightly animated cards..but no one cutting off heads...and lets face it, that's what counts!
